不管是冬季還是其它季節，有很多車主都習慣采取原地怠速熱車的方式，熱車一段時間再行駛，覺得自上料混凝土攪拌車，這時性能佳。但事實上，原地怠速熱車不僅效果有限，還浪費汽油和時間。當引擎在沒有負荷的狀態下，溫度的爬升是相當緩慢的，也就是說，引擎在怠速狀態下需要很長的時間才能達到正常的工作溫度。正確的做法應當是自上料混凝土攪拌車，原地熱車30秒左右后，立即上路行駛。但由于此時引擎及驅動系統都尚未達到正常的工作溫度，仍應將轉速控制在約2000轉/分鐘之內，待水溫達到正常后方可高轉速運行。
